The Board has reviewed a list of proposed improvements and changes to the area around the Club received from the Buildings and Grounds Committee. The plan is to focus on small relatively low cost projects centered around the lake lawn and main building that improve the experience at the Club as well as the appearance. The project proposals are purposely independent of each other, small and possible to be completed in a relatively short period of time with volunteer labor. The plan is to have regular short work parties on weekends through the spring to proceed with as many of these projects as the membership can accomplish. The list includes the following:
Remove the pine bushes in front of the main Clubhouse window and prepare the area for replanting.
Remove the overgrown bush at the southeast corner of the pavilion and prepare for replanting.
Fill in holes in the lawn and re-seed
Fill in the spaces between the concrete floor in the pavilion with new stone.
Construct beach stairs next to the sand box.
Construct new dock stairs.
Construct a ramp next to the outdoor dining area to increase accessibility.
Replace the roofing on the woodshed.
Cut a six foot opening through the pavilion wall to connect the area to the lawn.
Construct o flagstone patio outside the pavilion.
Construct a patio area on the point around the fire pit with Adirondack chairs.
Improve the transition to the parking area with stone fill.
Paint angled lines in the parking area.
Add gravel to the parking lot.
Landscape between the railroad ties in the parking lot.
Add gravel to the north access driveway.
Fix soffits and install gutters along the kitchen eaves.
As you can see, the list is ambitious and, to the extent we get these things done, will significantly improve the look and feel of our Club. If you are interested in reviewing these proposals, please let me know and I can provide you with more detail and the cost estimates. We will be announcing the schedule for work parties in the next few weeks. I hope you can join us to help.
