Remembrance & Dedication honoring Dr. James W. Boodley – Saturday, June 18, 10AM
The family of Dr. James W. Boodley will be hosting a get-together at the Club this Saturday at 10AM to celebrate his life and to dedicate a patio to be named in his memory.
Jim Boodley joined the Club in 1961. He helped out at Junior Roasts and assisted with periodic renovations of the children’s playground area. His sailboat-of-choice was a custom-made Flying Dutchman, which he brought to the Club soon after joining. In 1977 at age 50, he was one of the first people on Cayuga Lake to have a wind-surfer. He and his former wife, Nancy, and their four children spent many summers at the Club, with all of the children having learned to swim and sail there.
This Saturday, the family will fulfill his request to have a wreath of roses floated off the point in his honor. They’ll also share a copy of the plaque to be installed in the new patio and firepit planned for this summer. Members who would like to help them celebrate Jim Boodley’s life are cordially invited to attend, beginning at 10AM.
On behalf of all the members, thank you to the Boodley Family for their gift to help fund the construction of the new patio and fire pit on the point.
